Our client is a government technology organisation looking for a Data Centre Operations Support professional to support the day-to-day operations, maintenance and security of its data centre facilities and IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain critical data centre infrastructure, including UPS, PDUs, cooling, fire suppression and environmental monitoring systems.
- Monitor temperature, humidity, water leakage and other environmental conditions to ensure operational readiness.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and facility issues.
- Support facility maintenance, equipment installations, cable management and general data centre housekeeping.
- Monitor and manage physical security systems, including access control and CCTV, as well as visitor management and escort duties.
- Maintain security logs, access records and report any security incidents or anomalies.
- Monitor IT systems and infrastructure health, perform basic troubleshooting and support system administration activities.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, incident management, service requests and change management activities.
- Perform basic security checks, monitor security alerts and support user access management.
- Maintain data centre documentation, infrastructure records, asset registers, maintenance records and operational reports.
- Liaise with external partners and suppliers on operational and security-related matters.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in IT, Facilities Management, Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure support or data centre operations.
- Good understanding of data centre infrastructure, IT operations and security principles.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or GCIH will be a plus.
- Willingness to work on a shift basis and respond to operational emergencies when required.
