The Data & Business Analyst bridges business needs with data-driven insights. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into analytical solutions, enabling informed decision-making, improving processes, and supporting strategic initiatives through data modelling, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
Engage stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise business requirements.
Analyse current business processes and identify optimisation opportunities.
Translate business needs into functional and data requirements.
Support solution design, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation.
Develop business cases and measure post-implementation benefits.
Data & Analytics
Extract, clean, and analyse data from multiple systems to generate actionable insights.
Design and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports.
Perform trend, root cause, and scenario analysis to support strategic planning.
Develop and maintain data models and reporting datasets.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance compliance.
Stakeholder & Strategy Enablement
Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Partner with business units to drive data literacy and self-service reporting.
Support organisational planning, performance tracking, and transformation initiatives.
Act as the key interface between business users and technical teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
Proven experience in a hybrid data analyst / business analyst role.
Strong proficiency in:
SQL
Excel / Google Sheets (advanced)
Power BI / Tableau / similar BI tools
Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution documentation.
Familiarity with data modelling, ETL concepts, and data warehousing is an advantage.
