We are supporting a global manufacturing organization in hiring a Data Analyst who enjoys solving real operational problems - not just creating dashboards.
In this role, you will work closely with operations, engineering, and finance teams to understand why factory performance changes, where productivity is lost, and which improvement actions can deliver the greatest impact. You will transform complex factory and machine data into clear, structured insights that help leaders make informed operational decisions.
This is not an accounting role and not a reporting-only BI role. The focus is on operations performance analysis, productivity, efficiency, loss drivers, and translating operational performance into meaningful operational finance insights.
You will also collaborate with regional and global teams, with regular interaction and knowledge sharing with overseas stakeholders.
Analyze manufacturing performance including productivity, efficiency, utilization, and operational losses
Explain what changed, why it changed, and where improvement efforts should be focused
Build structured analytical models to support performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Define and standardize calculation logic and interpretation of operational performance metrics
Translate operational performance trends into operational and financial insights to support decision making
Analyze operational and machine data such as throughput, downtime, scrap rates, and process variation
Support root cause analysis through structured approaches such as loss breakdowns and driver analysis
Collaborate with Automation / OT teams to ensure machine and process data is clean, structured, and analytically usable
Design and maintain reusable datasets and structured data models that can be used across teams
Support data architecture concepts including data flows, transformation layers, and semantic models
Develop analytical models and data processing logic using Python, R, and SQL
Maintain clear documentation of data logic, assumptions, and analytical models to ensure consistency and scalability
Degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related fields
Entry level is welcome to apply as traineeship program will be provided
Applicant must be willing to undergo training and be based in Germany for up to 2 years before officially commencing the role in Singapore.
Preferably more than 2 years or more of experience in data analytics (experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a strong advantage)
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to explain why performance changes occur, not just report data
Experience working with structured data models beyond basic dashboards or reporting tools
Hands-on experience with Python, R, and SQL
Background in either:
Manufacturing / operations / process data analysis, or
Operational or performance analytics with interest in learning manufacturing concepts
Strong attention to data quality, consistency, and documentation
Understanding of manufacturing KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, utilization, and loss drivers
Exposure to data architecture concepts or analytics platforms
Experience with Power BI or Microsoft Fabric
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and production master data
Experience supporting regional or global digital initiatives
Knowledge of JMP or Minitab
