Job Summary:
The Cybersecurity Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of multiple cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational goals and security strategies. This role involves coordinating with various teams and vendors, managing project lifecycles, and providing expert guidance on cybersecurity technologies and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate several cybersecurity projects simultaneously, managing all stages from initial planning through to final delivery.
- Establish clear project objectives that support both business needs and cybersecurity priorities.
- Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at key points throughout the project to secure their support and alignment.
- Deploy and fine-tune cybersecurity tools designed to protect and control privileged accounts and credentials.
- Act as the department's cybersecurity specialist, providing expertise in areas such as identity and access management, privileged access controls, directory services, database security, web application firewalls, network firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Work collaboratively with IT and security teams to embed security measures into current systems and applications.
- Perform ongoing evaluations and compliance checks to ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and standards, including managing security awareness initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure timely completion of projects, as well as handling change and service requests efficiently.
- Ensure a seamless handover of projects to operational teams for ongoing support and maintenance.
- Provide support for daily security operations activities to maintain a strong security posture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in managing cybersecurity or IT security projects.
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity domains such as IAM, PAM, Active Directory, WAF, Firewall, and endpoint security technologies.
- Strong multitasking skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on schedule.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience in vendor management and service delivery oversight.
- Understanding of security compliance standards and audit procedures.
- Professional certifications like PMP, CISSP, or CISM are advantageous.
