Cybersecurity Policy Development Specialist

Overview

Our client is a technology organisation supporting large-scale digital transformation and the development of secure technology platforms. As part of its cybersecurity function, the team is seeking a Cybersecurity Policy Development Specialist to strengthen security governance, shape policy standards, and support the secure delivery of digital services across complex technology environments.

Role

This role will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and enhancing ICT and cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure effective protection of technology assets. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across policy, operations, and implementation teams to assess cyber risks, review exemption requests, promote security awareness, and support the development of practical mitigation plans. The role may also involve analysing security posture, identifying risk trends, supporting security assessments or audits, and contributing to solutions for emerging cybersecurity challenges across cloud, application, infrastructure, and digital environments.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in IT security, cybersecurity consulting, IT audit, governance, risk, or project management.
• Strong understanding of IT security management principles, cybersecurity governance, policy compliance, and risk assessment.
• Experience in areas such as cloud security, DevSecOps, network design, application security, IoT, cryptography, vulnerability assessment, or security architecture will be advantageous.
• CISSP, CISA, or knowledge of frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/27002, or similar cybersecurity policies will be an advantage.
