Cybersecurity Operations Lead

About the Role

You'll own the security operations function for a mission-critical, 24×7 environment - leading a team of cybersecurity engineers, driving threat response, and ensuring the organisation stays ahead of vulnerabilities and compliant with IM8 standards. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be equally comfortable reviewing security architecture designs and commanding an incident bridge call.

What You'll Do

Threat Monitoring & Incident Response

Oversee daily security monitoring via SIEM and endpoint tools. Lead end-to-end incident response - from containment and eradication through to root cause analysis - with clear escalation workflows and communication at every stage.

Vulnerability & Patch Management

Drive vulnerability assessment and penetration testing programmes. Own remediation across servers, network devices, middleware, and containers, and enforce timely patching cycles across all environments.

Security Infrastructure & Hardening

Configure and maintain core security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, HSM, PAM). Oversee hardening of OS, applications, and network layers (RHEL, Windows Server, Kubernetes). Review and approve security architecture for new components and projects.

Privileged Access Management

Govern privileged access across Active Directory domains. Enforce segregation of duties, emergency access procedures, and periodic access reviews.

Governance & Compliance

Maintain IM8 compliance, audit readiness, risk registers, and remediation tracking. Translate policy into operational reality.

Team Leadership

Lead, develop, and upskill a team of cybersecurity engineers. Maintain crisp documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer practices. Coordinate effectively across functions.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years in cybersecurity / information security, ideally supporting mission-critical or public sector environments
• Solid hands-on experience with: SIEM (LogRhythm), vulnerability scanning (Nessus), IAM/PAM (BeyondTrust / CyberArk), HSM, TLS/PKI, firewalls (Check Point, Palo Alto), IDS/IPS
• Strong OS security (RHEL, Windows Server), network security, and Kubernetes security competency
• Familiarity with IM8 governance, OWASP Top 10, CIA triad, defense-in-depth principles
• CISSP, CISM, or CEH preferred
