JobTitle: Resident Engineer Cybersecurity Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to support and manage enterprise network infrastructure, with a strong focus on routing, BGP, and Fortinet SD-WAN solutions. The ideal candidate will be embedded onsite, providing hands-on technical expertise, proactive support, and continuous optimization of network performance and security.
KeyResponsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support as a Resident Engineer, acting as the primary point of contact for network-related matters
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network routing solutions, with deep expertise in BGP
- Deploy, manage, and optimize Fortinet SD-WAN solutions across enterprise environments
- Administer and maintain FortiManager platforms, including policy management, device provisioning, and centralized control
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Jinja to streamline configuration and deployment processes
- Monitor network performance, identify issues proactively, and implement corrective measures
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve incidents and improve infrastructure resilience
- Perform regular health checks, audits, and documentation of network systems
- Support change management processes, including planning, testing, and implementation of network changes
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to stakeholders where required
RequiredSkills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with routing protocols, especially BGP (Border Gateway Protocol)
- Proven expertise in Fortinet SD-WAN architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting
- Advanced knowledge of FortiManager architecture and operations
- Proficiency in Jinja scripting for network automation and templating
- Solid understanding of network design principles, including high availability and redundancy
- Experience with enterprise network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Ability to work independently in a client-facing, onsite role
PreferredQualifications
- Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE (4/5/6/7) or equivalent
- Experience with network automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible)
- Familiarity with firewall, VPN, and security best practices
- Prior experience in a Resident Engineer or onsite support role
