Job Description

Are you a junior software engineer (1-3 years experience) looking to move into a Cyber Security Analyst role with a global security consultancy This could be the perfect role for you.

Introduction

Hyphen is partnering with a UK-based, global Cyber Security Solutions provider for clients across banking, finance, government, healthcare and hospitality. Apart from providing end-to-end security services, they also build their own in-house security tools, and build bespoke IT solutions for their clients.

They are currently expanding into Singapore, and are keen to hire a strong junior engineer (no cyber security background required) to take on a Security Analyst position in Singapore.

NOTE: This is a fully remote, WFH, Singapore-based role.

The role: Cyber Security Analyst

The global SOC team (blue team) operates between London (global HQ) and UAE (satellite office). The two locations manage incident response for their global clients. They are now looking to hire in Singapore in line with the follow-the-sun model.

Normal working hours apply, this is not a shift-based role.

This role is perfect for a junior engineer, with a computer science background (from a reputable university), who is keen to pivot into cyber security.

Responsibilities

  • L1 SOC - Review client emails through an email gateway solution, detecting phishing

emails and scams. First responder for incidents, performing basic triage and

analysis.

  • L2 SOC - Perform deeper analysis into high severity incidents, respond to client queries and

tickets. Tickets can range from trivial email blocking to complex investigations and

analysis.

  • Security Engineer - Work with development team to improve heuristics and detections.
  • Digital Forensics and Incident Response - Assist in Incident Response operations, this can range from reading through other SIEM logs and drawing detailed and accurate conclusions to leading communications with clients to spread awareness.

What you need to qualify for this role:

  • Strong computer science fundamentals (OS, Networks, AD, etc)
  • 2+ years Software Engineering experience
  • Cyber security experience is nice to have - but in-depth mentorship and training is provided. You will be learning from the industry's best cyber security engineers, security operations professionals and engineers. The team is more keen to bring in top-quality technologists / engineers, and teach them the hands-on security skills to succeed.
