Job Summary
Support import and export shipment processing by coordinating with customers, carriers, and agents to ensure timely clearance, documentation, billing, and shipment monitoring for smooth logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Support processing and arrangement of import and export shipments to meet delivery schedules
- Coordinate shipment clearance, delivery, and collection with customers, overseas agents, carriers, NVOCC, and co-loaders
- Prepare and handle complete import and export shipment documentation accurately
- Enter job information into the system to maintain up-to-date shipment records
- Manage billing and costing processes to ensure prompt and accurate invoicing to customers
- Prepare shipment manifests for carrier and customs use
- Liaise with carriers, feeder operators, vendors, overseas offices, and customers to resolve shipment issues
- Monitor vessel berthing schedules and shipment arrival and departure dates daily
- Communicate with service providers and customers to arrange shipment details and resolve discrepancies
- Track shipment status including short landed cargo, surveys, and missing items to ensure shipment integrity
- Utilize DG Declaration, Portnet, and Tradenet systems for shipment compliance and documentation (advantageous skill)
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned to support logistics operations
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum GCE N or O level qualification
- 1 to 2 years of experience in shipping or freight forwarding
- Proficient in PC applications including MS Word and Excel
- Strong communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and organized to manage shipment documentation and billing accurately
- Team player with a positive and pleasant working attitude
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in handling DG Declaration, Portnet, and Tradenet systems (not mandatory but advantageous)
