About the Role

We are looking for customer-focused and sales-driven individuals to join a leading financial institution within its Personal Banking division.

As a Customer Relationship Executive - Personal Banking (Sales), you will engage retail banking customers, understand their financial needs and recommend suitable banking, protection and investment solutions.

This role is suitable for candidates who enjoy customer interaction, relationship management and sales, and who are keen to build a long-term career in banking and wealth management.

Structured classroom and on-the-job training will be provided to help successful candidates develop their banking, financial advisory and relationship management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with personal banking customers.

  • Understand customers financial goals, needs and risk profiles through proper needs analysis.

  • Provide appropriate financial advisory and banking solutions based on customers requirements.

  • Introduce suitable products and services including:

    • Deposits and savings solutions

    • Investment products

    • Insurance and protection products

    • Loans and other personal banking solutions

  • Identify opportunities to deepen existing customer relationships and develop new business opportunities.

  • Engage customers through branch interactions, referrals and outbound customer engagement or tele-prospecting activities.

  • Work towards assigned individual sales and performance targets.

  • Ensure all sales, advisory and documentation processes are completed accurately and within required timelines.

  • Comply with the bank's internal policies, regulatory requirements and applicable financial advisory regulations, including the Financial Advisers Act (FAA).

  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service and ethical sales conduct.

Requirements

  • Recognised Diploma or Degree, depending on the hiring requirements of the financial institution.

  • Candidates with experience in banking, financial services, insurance, sales, business development, customer service or relationship management are encouraged to apply.

  • Fresh graduates with a strong interest in banking and sales may also be considered.

  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing and sales-targeted environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Confident in engaging customers and building long-term relationships.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and able to work independently.

  • Strong interest in financial planning, investments, banking and wealth management.

CMFAS / Regulatory Requirements

Candidates will be required to obtain the relevant CMFAS examinations and regulatory qualifications required to perform financial advisory and sales activities.

Depending on the specific role and products handled, this may include relevant CMFAS modules covering areas such as:

  • Rules and regulations for financial advisory services

  • Collective investment schemes / investment products

  • Life insurance and health insurance products

Successful candidates may be required to pass selected CMFAS examinations before commencing regulated advisory activities.

Candidates who already possess relevant CMFAS qualifications will have an advantage.

Training & Development

Successful candidates will undergo structured training which may include:

Initial Training

  • Banking and product knowledge

  • Financial advisory fundamentals

  • Regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Customer engagement and sales techniques

On-the-Job Training

  • Customer needs analysis

  • Product recommendation and advisory

  • Branch-based customer engagement

  • Outbound customer engagement / tele-prospecting

  • Sales and relationship management

Upon successful completion of the training and assessment requirements, candidates will be deployed to a banking branch or assigned business location.

Working Arrangement

  • Primarily branch-based / on-site.

  • Working hours may follow the operating hours of the assigned banking branch.

  • Some branches may operate on Saturdays.

  • Depending on business requirements, approximately two evenings per week may involve outbound customer engagement or tele-prospecting activities after normal branch operating hours.
