Field Service Engineer / Customer Engineer - Role Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Support Senior Field Service Engineers (Customer Engineers) with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment upgrades at customer sites.
- Utilize digital analytics and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:Electrical systemsVacuum systemsMechanical systemsPlasma systemsHydraulic systemsGas delivery systems
- Communicate and coordinate directly with customers regarding service activities and equipment status.
- Carry out additional assigned operational and technical duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree, military technical training, trade certification, or equivalent field service experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in field service, customer support, equipment maintenance, or a related technical role.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of:PneumaticsHydraulicsElectronicsVacuum technologyThermodynamics
- Familiarity with hand tools and test equipment such as digital multimeters.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.
- Ability to comply with customer site safety, environmental, and health requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in field service support or a related technical field.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequent walking and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Ability to work at heights and lift up to 35 lbs (16 kg).
- Capability to distinguish colors for electrical and equipment work.
- Comfortable working around electrical systems and in noisy environments.
- Regular use of hand tools and power tools.
