About Metta Preschool

Metta Preschool provides early intervention and preschool services to support children with diverse developmental and learning needs. Through a child- and family-centred approach, our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to support each child's development, learning and participation.

We are looking for a Curriculum Specialist to strengthen curriculum quality and support educators in delivering evidence-informed, inclusive and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and review evidence-informed, developmentally appropriate and inclusive curriculum and learning resources.

  • Collaborate with Centre Leaders, Senior Teachers, Early Intervention Educators and Allied Health Professionals to ensure curriculum meets the diverse needs of children.

  • Develop lesson-planning resources, teaching materials and intervention strategies to support quality and consistent curriculum implementation.

  • Monitor curriculum implementation through classroom observations, curriculum reviews and stakeholder feedback, and recommend improvements.

  • Keep abreast of research and emerging practices in early intervention, inclusive education and child development to enhance curriculum practices.

  • Work with transdisciplinary teams to align curriculum and teaching practices with children's Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Develop parent and home-learning resources to strengthen caregiver engagement and children's learning beyond the classroom.

  • Plan and conduct professional development, coaching and training for educators on curriculum and instructional practices.

  • Participate in ECHO GCO meetings with team members and parents.

  • Provide teaching coverage when required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Management.

Requirements

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in early childhood curriculum planning, development and/or training.

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Teaching or Leadership) would be an advantage.

  • Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) and/or training in the ECHO Framework curriculum is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, observation, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Able to provide professional guidance and coaching to educators and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
