Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- File Pre-flighting: Reviewing client-supplied files (e.g., PDF, AI, PSD) to check for proper resolution (300+ DPI), font integrity, bleed, and color accuracy.
- Creating Proofs: Producing soft (PDF) or hard-copy (physical inkjet) proofs that closely simulate the final printed product.
- Color Management: Adjusting images and layouts from RGB (screen) to CMYK (print) or spot colors to match brand standards and ensure color consistency.
- Imposition: Arranging pages or design elements on a larger sheet to optimize paper usage and ensure correct folding and binding.
- Troubleshooting & Correction: Fixing layout issues, trapping, or file errors and collaborating with clients or designers on necessary adjustments.
- Platemaking: If using offset printing, producing physical printing plates (computer-to-plate technology) after approval
