Key Responsibilities
. Strategic Technology Leadership:
Develop and execute the subsidiary's technology strategy and roadmap inalignment with the overall strategy and objectives of FSP Group. Identify andprioritise technologies, capabilities, and investments that support businessgrowth, competitiveness, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.
. Product Development & Engineering:
Provide overall technical leadership for product development, designengineering, process development, tooling, prototyping, validation, andtransfer to manufacturing. Ensure robust technical solutions are developed anddelivered in accordance with customer requirements, quality standards,timelines, and cost objectives.
. Technology & Innovation:
Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies, manufacturingtechnologies, automation, digital solutions, and engineering methodologies thatcan improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, quality,scalability, and competitiveness.
. Manufacturing Technology & Process Excellence:
Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teamsto develop and optimise manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling,automation, and production technologies. Drive technology-enabled improvementsin productivity, yield, capacity, quality, and cost.
. Technical Support for Business Growth:
Partner with the CEO, Commercial, and Business Development teams to supportcustomer acquisition and growth initiatives. Provide technical leadership incustomer discussions, new product opportunities, technology assessments,technical proposals, and solution development.
. Customer & Technical Stakeholder Management:
Build strong relationships with key customers and technical stakeholders.Understand customer technology and product development requirements and ensurethe organisation provides innovative, practical, and commercially viabletechnical solutions.
. Technology Portfolio & Investment:
Develop and manage the technology investment roadmap, including evaluation ofcapital expenditure, engineering resources, equipment, software, automation,intellectual property, and other technology investments. Ensure investments arealigned with business priorities and deliver measurable value.
. Organisation & Technical Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing technology and engineering organisation.Strengthen technical capabilities, develop engineering talent and successionpipelines, and foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence,accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Operations, Quality, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, andother functions to ensure technology and engineering strategies are effectivelytranslated into business and operational outcomes.
. Group Collaboration:
Work closely with other FSP Group companies to identify and leverageopportunities for shared technologies, engineering capabilities, technicalexpertise, resources, intellectual property, and operational synergies.
. Technology & Business Expansion:
Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand the subsidiary's technicalcapabilities, manufacturing technologies, service offerings, and geographicfootprint. Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, partnerships, and otheropportunities involving technology and engineering capabilities.
. Quality, Regulatory & Technical Governance:
Ensure product development and engineering activities comply with applicablemedical device regulations, quality systems, customer requirements, industrystandards, and Group policies. Work closely with Quality and Regulatory teamsto ensure appropriate technical controls, design controls, validation, riskmanagement, and documentation are maintained.
. Technology Risk Management:
Identify and manage technical, product development, engineering, manufacturingtechnology, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and technology investmentrisks. Establish appropriate processes and controls to ensure continuity,scalability, and protection of critical technologies and know-how.
. Technology Performance & Reporting:
Establish appropriate technology and engineering KPIs and regularly report tothe CEO, Board, and Group leadership on technology roadmap progress, productdevelopment, innovation initiatives, engineering performance, technologyinvestments, key risks, and strategic opportunities.
JobRequirements
.15+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in MedTech, medicaldevices, CDMO, contract manufacturing, engineering, or related life sciencessectors.
.Prior CTO, Chief Technology Officer, VP Engineering, VP Technology, TechnicalDirector, Engineering Director, or equivalent senior technical leadershipexperience, preferably within a growth-focused business, group, or privateequity-backed environment.
.Strong track record of leading technology, engineering, product development,and/or manufacturing technology functions in a MedTech or highly regulatedmanufacturing environment.
.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technology strategies and translatetechnology roadmaps into measurable business, operational, and customeroutcomes.
.Deep understanding of medical device product development, design controls,product industrialisation, manufacturing processes, quality systems, andregulatory environments.
.Strong experience in product development, engineering, process development,tooling, automation, manufacturing technologies, or related technicaldisciplines.
.Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium-volume manufacturing environments ispreferred.
.Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement new technologies, driveinnovation, and develop scalable technical and manufacturing solutions.
.Strong commercial awareness and ability to understand customer requirements,support business development, and translate technical capabilities intocommercial opportunities.
.Experience working with a parent company, Group leadership, Board, or privateequity stakeholders is preferred.
.Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, andorganisational development capabilities.
.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence seniorstakeholders across technology, engineering, operations, quality, commercial,and corporate functions.
.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related disciplinerequired advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD, or equivalent) preferred.
