Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Officer to join our Credit Review Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of corporate borrowers, conducting comprehensive credit analysis, preparing credit assessment papers, and supporting sound credit decision-making in accordance with the Company's credit policies and MAS regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess good financial analysis skills, sound judgement, and the ability to identify and assess key credit risks across a range of industries.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive credit assessments on existing corporate borrowers, by conducting annual and periodic credit reviews, ensuring risk ratings remain appropriate and credit exposures are adequately addressed.
- Analyze financial statements, business performance, industry dynamics, and market trends to evaluate borrowers repayment ability.
- Identify key credit risks and mitigating factors and recommend appropriate credit decisions and risk mitigants.
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-reasoned credit review papers for approval by relevant credit authorities.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers and business units to obtain credit information updates, while maintaining independent credit judgement.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, risk appetite, MAS regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Support internal and external audit reviews, regulatory examinations, and management reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of credit processes, policies, and analytical methodologies.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Banking, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, CA, FRM, or equivalent would be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–8 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis, credit risk management, commercial banking or corporate banking.
- Experience analyzing financial statements across multiple industries.
- Familiarity with lending products including term loans, revolving credit facilities, trade finance, hire purchase / block discounting facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of Singapore banking regulations and credit risk management practices is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong financial statement analysis and cash flow assessment skills.
- Good understanding of credit risk principles and risk rating methodologies.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
