The Role:
The Credit Analyst is a key role within the Risk department, reporting to the Head of Credit Risk for Business Banking. The responsibilities of the Credit Analyst encompass the full loan lifecycle, from initial underwriting support and due diligence to ongoing portfolio monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Underwriting and Analysis
- Perform comprehensive credit analysis and evaluation of credit documents, including financial statements and bank statements.
- Review bank statements and cash flow patterns to assess the borrower's repayment capacity.
- Conduct background checks on companies and Personal Guarantors (PGs) as part of the due diligence process.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of loan applications.
- Analyse and document credit decision outcomes.
Loan Processing and Documentation
- Process end-to-end loan transactions.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of application documents and ensure compliance with internal credit policies and approval conditions.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Operations, Legal) to follow up on documentation and ensure smooth processing.
Portfolio Management and Monitoring
- Monitor covenant compliance and promptly flag any exceptions.
- Identify and report on early warning signals of credit risk.
- Perform loan maintenance, such as updating insurance details and credit limits.
- Perform database maintenance and follow up with internal stakeholders as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma / Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or any other related disciplines
- At least 1 years experience in credit analysis or underwriting. Prior experience in SME Banking / lending is strong advantage
- Meticulous and efficient with well-developed organizational skills
- Ability to work independently within a diverse and dynamic team environment
- Experience with CRM systems and proficiency in google suites will be highly regarded
