Creative Technologist - Video / AI Content Production
Why this role exists
HP is building a marketing production engine - an AI-enabled, template-driven content factory that lets marketers produce assets at scale without needing prompt engineering skills. The Creative Technologist is the bridge between marketing intent and AI execution: turning HP's current agency outputs into repeatable generation playbooks that run through pre-set templates, prompts and AI workflows, within brand guardrails, at scale.
This is not a prompt artist role. It's a production-grade builder who can take a messy real brief and turn it into a system.
What this person owns
- Recreating agency-quality outputs via AI (copy, images, video) using LLMs (Claude, Writer.ai, Firefly) and Adobe Express patterns
- The content logic layer that keeps outputs consistent:Prompt recipes / structured promptsVariant strategy (3 versions + rationale)Brand voice applicationLocalization-ready copy behaviourTemplate-fit rules (character limits, safe zones, layout integrity)
- Operational quality: defining what good means, reducing regen loops, driving first-pass success
Not in scope
- Building the full vendor capability stack end-to-end (Adobe Consulting handles the heavy lift)
- Marketer UI / Smart Brief product ownership
Responsibilities
1. Translate agency outcomes into AI-enabled recipes
- Audit current agency deliverables for NPIs and define:Inputs needed (product data/specs, claims, tone, persona, market)Output specs per use-case (IAB, RMN, A+ modules, annotated images)Non-negotiables (logos, legal lines, disclaimers, accessibility requirements)
- Build generation playbooks - the system, not the generation itself - that reliably produce copy packs, lifestyle/close-up/ecosystem shots, and templated imagery variants (compositions via ingredients)
2. Partner with Adobe resources to implement and harden workflows
- Co-design workflow behaviour: staged generation (copy first, heavy assets second), guardrails and fallback logic (missing data, model failure), cost controls (no expensive generation until copy is approved)
- Validate outputs against HP standards and create a benchmark pack: pass/fail rubric, regen triggers, approval readiness
3. Quality, governance and continuous improvement
- Own the loop: capture reviewer feedback (what failed and why), tune prompt recipes and variant logic, reduce failure modes over time
- Drive measurable improvement in first-pass success rate, regen rate and QA fail reasons
4. Enablement - make marketers effective without prompt engineering
- Produce simple, reusable enablement assets: how to get a great output guidelines (without prompting), example briefs, do/don't patterns, and a playbook per use-case
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in creative production, creative technology or content systems (agency, studio or in-house)
- Hands-on experience with AI prompting and workflows for copywriting systems and design production workflows
- Strong working knowledge of the Adobe ecosystem (Firefly + Creative Cloud Express template logic a big plus)
- Comfort with experimentation and rigour - able to run AI tests, compare outputs and document what works
- Able to work directly with Adobe teams and HP stakeholders without handholding
Strongly preferred
- Experience with template-driven, at-scale production
- Familiarity with automation, even lightweight: structured prompt frameworks, metadata discipline, repeatable QA
First 90 days - deliverables
- 3-5 priority use-cases (e.g. annotated images pack, screen-fill hero, SKU copy pack, short video cutdown)
- Benchmark pack, v1 generation playbooks (inputs → outputs → constraints → guardrails), template-fit rules, and a feedback loop process with Adobe FDEs and HP reviewers
- Measurable reduction in manual rework, regen cycles and time-to-approval
