We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to strengthen the mental health support ecosystem for youths aged 12 to 25. This role focuses on proactive outreach, early intervention, and providing basic emotional support, while connecting youths and their caregivers to appropriate mental health resources. You will also work closely with community partners to promote mental wellness and build a supportive environment for young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Outreach & Education Initiatives
- Plan and organise community- and school-based outreach activities such as workshops, roadshows, and talks to raise awareness of youth mental health among students, parents, and educators.
- Support early identification of mental health concerns through screening initiatives and public education efforts, enabling timely intervention.
- Offer basic emotional support to youths and caregivers, and guide them in navigating available mental health services and resources.
- Work closely with mental health and social service providers to ensure appropriate support is provided, and follow up on cases to monitor progress.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, youth organisations, and healthcare providers to enhance coordinated service delivery.
- Support data collection, reporting, and evaluation of outreach initiatives to improve programme effectiveness and meet community needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare, community care, youth work, or related fields.
- Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work or Counselling.
- Experience in community outreach, youth engagement, or counselling is preferred.
- Strong passion for youth mental health and community work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage youths and stakeholders effectively
- Good understanding of youth mental health issues and community support services, including risk and safety assessment
