Costume Design and Production Supervisor - Key Responsibilities and Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support & Coordination Assist the Costume Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of costume production processes. Support project milestones to ensure adherence to timelines and creative objectives.
Team Supervision Oversee daily operations of assigned team members including fabricators and support staff. Ensure tasks are clearly delegated and completed according to schedule and quality expectations.
Workflow Management Monitor production workflows and assist in troubleshooting operational challenges. Facilitate clear communication among internal team members and external collaborators.
Resource Allocation Assist in managing material inventory, procurement coordination, and efficient use of resources. Track usage and flag any concerns regarding supply levels or overages.
Quality Assurance Conduct initial inspections on costumes for accuracy, craftsmanship, and adherence to design specifications. Identify and escalate issues for correction as needed.
Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate logs of work progress, staff schedules, and material usage. Support the preparation of summary reports for management as required.
Stakeholder Liaison Act as a point of contact for routine inquiries from internal departments and external vendors, ensuring clear and timely information exchange.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in costume production, garment supervision, or related field.
Skills: Strong organizational and team coordination abilities. Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced production environment.
Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of costume construction techniques, materials, and alterations.
Software Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word familiarity with inventory tracking or project management tools is an advantage.
Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable providing direction and feedback to team members.
Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying production issues and collaborating on effective solutions.
