Corporate Safety Officer

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Corporate Safety Officer to join our team at BERJAYA BUILDCON PTE. LTD.. This is a full-time position. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our construction projects, playing a pivotal part in our commitment to employee wellbeing and operational excellence.

What you'll be doing

1. Developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to maintain compliance with relevant regulations

2. Conducting risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential risks

3. Providing training and support to employees on safety protocols and best practices

4. Investigating and reporting on any incidents or accidents, and implementing corrective actions

5. Collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of construction operations and assist the PM in charge of the workplace to identify, foresee and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes therein

6. Maintaining detailed records and documentation to demonstrate compliance and implement the measure or safe work procedure

7. Staying up-to-date with changes in health, safety, and environmental regulations within the construction industry

What we're looking for

1. Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field

2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry

3. Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to the construction sector

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees at all levels

5. Proficient in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety auditing

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure safety compliance

7. Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
