As a Core Engineering Manager, you'll take ownership of a critical trading platform that provides market connectivity, execution capabilities, and data infrastructure across cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. You'll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management responsibilities, driving innovation while mentoring a globally distributed team of world-class engineers.
Day-to-day:
- Architect and design high-performance trading systems for cryptocurrency markets
- Lead the development of market connectivity infrastructure, including real-time market data and order execution platforms
- Manage, mentor, and grow a global team of software engineers across multiple regions
- Partner closely with traders, business leaders, and stakeholders to prioritize strategic initiatives and deliver impactful solutions
- Drive latency optimisation through advanced systems programming, networking, and performance engineering techniques
- Build scalable platforms for historical market data analysis, simulation, and research
- Champion engineering excellence, scalability, and reliability across critical production systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional C++ development experience, ideally within electronic trading, quantitative finance, or other high-performance environments
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, including distributed or global teams
- Strong track record designing and delivering complex, performance-critical software systems
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-performance environments

- Cryptocurrency trading or exchange connectivity experience
- Knowledge of exchange APIs, including WebSocket and HTTP protocols
- Linux systems expertise
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP and UDP
- Experience with Python and shell scripting
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
- Mandarin language skills
