Core Banking Functional Consultant
Job Summary :
As a
Functional Consultant, you will work closely with clients in the banking sector to understand their business requirements and translate them into actionable, effective solutions. You will be responsible for configuring and optimizing banking systems and ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Requirement Gathering: Work with business stakeholders, such as banking clients, product managers, and IT teams, to understand functional requirements for banking applications and systems.
- System Configuration: Configure and customize banking software (core banking systems, digital banking platforms, etc.) based on the client's requirements.
- Testing & Validation: Support testing efforts to validate that systems and solutions meet business requirements, ensuring quality and functionality.
- Client Support: Provide functional support to clients during and after the implementation phase, assisting with issue resolution and troubleshooting functional queries.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create functional specifications, user manuals, and other documentation to support the implementation and maintenance of banking systems.
Responsibilities
Skills & Qualifications :
- Business, Information Technology, Finance, or related fields.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in functional consulting, business analysis, ideally in the banking or financial services industry.
- Domain Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of banking operations, including core banking systems, payments, lending, and digital banking solutions.
- Knowledge of banking products and services, such as Current & savings Accounts, Term Deposits, Loans, etc.
- Basic understanding of Interest processing for current and savings accounts & Basic accounting knowledge
- Functional Skills:
- Experience with Core Banking Systems (e.g., Flexcube, Finacle, Temenos).
- Ability to gather and document functional requirements, create use cases, and communicate effectively with business and technical teams.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of SQL for querying databases and validating data.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or other project management and documentation software.
- Basic understanding of Integration using ReST and WebServices
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Client-focused mindset with the ability to manage relationships and deliver high-quality service.
