Core AI Engineer

Role Summary:

The Core AI Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining SGX's shared AI services and platform infrastructure. This role is the backbone of the hub-and-spoke model, enabling deployed engineers and business units to deliver AI use cases reliably and at scale.

Team size: 2-3 engineers in the Core Team

Role Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain shared and reusable services around document intelligence, knowledge & data, agent orchestration and agentic applications

• Create additional reusable services and components for deployed engineers to build with

• Set up and maintain monitoring for AI services and use cases

• Define APIs, integration patterns, and engineering standards

• Support deployed engineers with technical guidance and code review

• Contribute technical expertise to AI use case inventory and governance documentation

• Participate in pre-deployment reviews for medium and high-risk use cases

Role Requirements:

• Strong software engineering (Python, cloud services, CI/CD)

• Experience with LLM APIs, RAG architectures, or knowledge graphing

• Understanding of data governance and security in regulated environments

• Ability to work autonomously and document decisions

• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and shared services

• Comfortable setting standards and guiding other engineers

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in financial services or regulated industries

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Gemini APIs

• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks

• Background in MLOps or AI/ML platform engineering
