Job Description

Brief Summary

Join a dynamic team as a Physiotherapist, Therapy Assistant, or Fitness Instructor, dedicated to improving the lives of elderly. Engage in meaningful work by providing therapeutic interventions and educational programs that promote healthy aging.

Responsibilities

Conduct targeted and personalized physical assessments for participants during recruitment and periodic reviews (training will be provided). Develop and implement tailored exercise programs, incorporating OTAGO and Motor-Cognitive Dual-Task training. Train and supervise volunteers and staff at Senior Activity Centres in executing exercise programs and completing periodic assessments. Deliver informative talks on topics such as falls prevention, frailty, and healthy aging. Maintain comprehensive documentation of records for referral to community partners. Participate in functional assessments, data collection, and multidisciplinary teamwork discussions. Build and nurture positive relationships with participants, their families, and volunteers, characterized by care and respect.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent background in fitness instruction. Preferably possess full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC). Previous experience in a hospital or eldercare setting is an advantage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Demonstrated interest in advancing a career in geriatrics and preventive health.
