Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook/Cleaner to prepare simple meals for children in a childcare setting. The ideal candidate will have a Food Hygiene certification, relevant experience in preparing meals for children, and the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cook, serve and wash simple meals and snacks according to the dietary requirements of children.
- Ensure meals are prepared in a safe and hygienic manner, adhering to all food safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining, and food storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels and manage inventory, ensuring ingredients are fresh and adequately stocked.
- Serve meals and assist in mealtime routines when necessary, ensuring children's safety and encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Comply with childcare centre policies and procedures, including safety, health, and emergency protocols.
- Keep accurate records of meals prepared, ingredients used, and any incidents or concerns.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook/cleaner, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
- High integrity and commitment
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in working with children.
- Familiarity with kitchen safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position
- 7am - 4:30pm (M-F)
- Standing for extended periods and handling kitchen equipment.
