A Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes and portion standards
Assist in food preparation (cutting, chopping, marinating, etc.)
Ensure food is cooked and presented in an appealing manner
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations
Monitor food stock levels and inform management of shortages
Properly store food items to prevent spoilage
Assist in menu planning and daily specials (if required)
Operate kitchen equipment safely
Required Skills & Qualifications
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good time management and multitasking skills
Teamwork and communication skills
Prior experience in a kitchen is preferred but not always required
