This position is a field-based role which requires the incumbent to travel to customer sites across the APAC region to provide specialist installation and maintenance support as directed by the Resource Manager. The role will report to the Resource Manager for SEA region.

As a Controls & Instrumentations Engineer - Field Service, you will be responsible for:

  • Working either independently or with a team of field services with the direction from the Service Manager/Installation Manager/Site Manager/Lead Engineer to support installation services.
  • Working experience as Control support for outages, shutdowns, minor and major maintenance, start up and commissioning related with Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivatives Gas Turbine/Heavy Duty Gas Turbines/Steam Turbines/Nuovo Pignone Compressors/Pumps/Auxiliaries packages in Oil & Gas platforms and auxiliaries such as pumps and compressors.
  • Managing electrical and instrumentation related activities such as outages, services, installation, start up and commissioning support.
  • Having expert knowledge of Gas Turbine Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems.
  • Being focal point for Controls commissioning between customer with internal Baker Hughes project management team.
  • Handling Electrical & Instrumentations tasks besides the managing the commissioning of equipment with the current control systems.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 3 yr of relevant experience with education in Engineering/ or Technical Diploma in Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Possess work experience in the Energy or Oil & Gas industry.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge on Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivates Turbine/Compressors/Auxiliaries installation & maintenance philosophy.
  • Be fluent in both oral and written English
  • Have good customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Have proven ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Have awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and potential risks.

The duration of the work at site and the hours of work at the site will be in line with customer requirements. In between work assignments, you will have free time in line with Baker Hughes working time guidelines and fatigue management provisions. You will also accrue annual leave which you can then take to extend your time off.
