Job Description
- Manage the full lifecycle of supply chain and vendor contracts.
- Review agreements to ensure commercial terms such as pricing, delivery timelines, and quality standards meet business needs.
- Ensure contracts follow internal policies and protect the company from unnecessary risks.
- Review and revise contract terms and negotiate directly with suppliers within company guidelines.
- Work with internal teams to resolve commercial and contractual matters before agreements are finalized.
- Establish clear contracting policies, procedures, and standard templates for supplier agreements.
- Work with legal, business units, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain these frameworks.
- Update processes regularly based on business needs, regulatory changes, and past experience.
- Improve contract workflows to make the process faster and more efficient.
- Introduce tools or tracking methods to reduce delays and improve contract turnaround time.
- Communicate key obligations and updates to relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Maintain professional relationships with suppliers during the contracting stage.
- Support supplier selection and purchasing activities when required.
- Identify opportunities for contract renewal, renegotiation, or risk mitigation.
- Continuously improve internal contract management systems and processes.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline. An MBA or postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or contract management within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience handling supplier contracts and negotiations in a manufacturing company is essential.
- Good understanding of supply chain operations and how supplier contracts impact areas such as production, logistics, and sales.
- Experience working across different departments, particularly with legal and operations teams, on company-wide initiatives or projects.
- Strong contract review, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to balance commercial outcomes and supplier relationships.
- Ability to independently handle contract matters and know when to escalate issues to legal or senior management.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple contracts and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
