Job Summary

Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors to oversee tender submissions, project contracts, and commercial risk management, ensuring compliance and delivering cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of quantity surveyors to prepare and submit tenders, manage ongoing projects, and resolve contractual matters to ensure timely and compliant project delivery
  • Develop and implement strategies for defining scope of works and contract terms when sourcing suppliers and subcontractors to optimize procurement outcomes
  • Provide clear, actionable contractual advice to senior management, project managers, and project staff to support informed decision-making and risk mitigation
  • Ensure all projects comply with contract requirements and procedural standards to maintain quality and legal adherence
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable agreements and control project costs
  • Conduct risk and value management analyses and apply cost control measures during design and project execution phases to maximize project value
  • Identify, analyze, and develop actionable responses to commercial risks impacting projects to safeguard company interests

Required competencies and certifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills managing teams in construction quantity surveying and contract management
  • Proficient negotiation skills applied to subcontractor and supplier contracts
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address contractual and commercial challenges effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and negotiation
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting
  • Knowledge of PSSCOC, REDAS, and SIA contractual legislations relevant to construction projects

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
