Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial and contract administration functions, including budgeting, cash flow planning, cost monitoring, and reporting of financial risks to management.
  • Implement and enforce budgetary controls to ensure procurement activities and material usage comply with approved financial guidelines.
  • Prepare, review, and manage main contracts and subcontract agreements, ensuring scope clarity and strong contractual protection for the project.
  • Guide and supervise the QS team in measurement work, tender evaluations, procurement exercises, and verification of subcontractor progress claims and client payment submissions.
  • Negotiate contract terms, oversee subcontractor claims, variations, and final account closures to secure favorable commercial outcomes.
  • Address contractual matters in accordance with governing contract conditions and provide advice on related risks and obligations.
  • Prepare claim strategies, contractual correspondence, and detailed claim submissions for client review.
  • Manage and resolve time-related claims, variation orders, and cost issues through discussions with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in contract administration and QS roles within a main contractor environment.
  • Strong background in claims evaluation and management experience in claims consultancy is advantageous.
  • Familiar with industry-standard forms of contract such as SIA, PSSCOC, and FIDIC.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical evaluation, and problem-resolution abilities.
  • Strong communicator with proven leadership capability to guide a QS or contracts team.
  • Highly motivated, reliable, and able to deliver results under time-sensitive conditions
