Key Responsibilities / Job Description:
- Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle (11g/12c/19c) and MS SQL Server (2016-2019) databases across production, staging, and development environments.
- Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, backup and recovery using RMAN,Data Guard, and SQL Server native tools.
- Conduct performance tuning, SQL optimisation, indexing strategies, resource management, and query analysis.
- Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and clustering solutions to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Implement and maintain backup/restore procedures, disaster recovery plans, and environment hardening.
- Monitor database health, storage, tablespaces, logs, and hardware utilisation through scripts and monitoring tools.
- Support data migration, ETL processes (ODI/SSIS), batch operations, and integrations with application teams.
- Work closely with infrastructure, development, and support teams to resolve issues and ensure system stability.
- Provide 24/7 support on a rotational basis for critical incidents.
