Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Contract Accountant to lead a short-term financial clean-up project. You will review and reconcile past financial year accounts, organize manual Excel bookkeeping records, and ensure QuickBooks data accuracy to support structured financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile prior financial year accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Perform detailed bank reconciliations, including resolving historical outstanding items
- Clean up and organize QuickBooks records to maintain up-to-date financial data
- Review and tidy manual Excel bookkeeping sheets for consistency and accuracy
- Cross-check Excel records against bank statements and QuickBooks to identify discrepancies
- Identify and rectify discrepancies or mispostings to ensure financial integrity
- Document accounts properly and provide clear summaries of adjustments made during the clean-up
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks for financial data management
- Proficient in Excel, with the ability to work effectively with manual bookkeeping sheets
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in financial clean-up and reconciliation projects
- Detail-oriented and systematic approach to work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
