Job Description

As a Content Specialist within the Corporate Communications team, you will be responsible for growing the general insurance industry's brand voice and presence by developing and delivering high impact content strategies and narratives that communicate our key messages and value propositions.

You will be required to plan, produce, manage, and monitor content that supports the company's overall marketing and communications strategies and ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with organisational objectives. This includes developing engaging written and multimedia content, identifying key target markets, managing, maintaining and optimising content across the company's and our partners platforms. Content creation includes but is not limited to writing, illustrating, layout, script, and video production.

Success in this role will be demonstrated by your ability to:

  • Invest time and effort into developing a nuanced understanding of business issues and the business environment.
  • Develop narratives and story tell.
  • Apply and incorporate understanding of business issues and needs to generate content to achieve messaging objectives and close gaps.
  • Co-create with internal and external collaborators.

This role will report to the Corporate Communications Head. This is an immersive role for a candidate who enjoys (co)creating, ideating, and collaborating.

The Role Involves

1. Content Creation and Management

  • Identify and develop key target market and segments. Shape content strategy and drive content development across channels, target markets and segments.
  • Develop and execute social media and marketing strategies and campaigns that connect with key target market and segments.
  • Maintain a content calendar with regular publishing cadence.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the brand, campaigns, and content using marketing analytics and social listening tools.Use data and insights to provide actionable recommendations for enhancing future campaigns and content strategies
  • Collaborate with external partners.

2. Creative Development Support

  • Provide content development counsel and support to other teams.

3. Marketing Communications and Activations

  • Generate and execute marketing campaigns to promote projects, events and initiatives.
  • Translate integrated marketing strategies into impactful outcomes.
  • Track and measure outcomes against success metrics and calibrate.
  • Support the planning and execution of events and activations.

4. Branding

  • Act as brand custodian by ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment to brand identity
  • Contribute to event planning, management and execution to ensure alignment with the association's brand and carry positive messaging around key messages

5. Organisation support

  • Support the work of the committees and workgroups - including organising meetings, preparing documents and meeting materials, collecting, analysing and collating feedback and responses, executing industry initiatives, and liaising with member representatives

6. Other duties and responsibilities as may be needed

You Might Be Who We're Looking for If You:

  • Are a digital native and chronically online.
  • Enjoy creating, ideating, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Have a track record of developing and delivering effective content or marketing strategies.
  • Are comfortable experimenting with video content and open to being behind or in front of the camera when needed.
  • Possess basic experience with content development and management tools like AI-assisted tools (e.g. Nanobanana,Google Gemini), video editing software (e.g. CapCut), analytic tools, and other performance monitoring and tracking tools.
  • Can write fluently and independently in English with minimal corrections.
  • Can build sustainable working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups of varying backgrounds and profiles. Motivated self-starter who is willing to try new things and adapt to evolving business needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience in advertising, content development, marketing, business, communications, or public relations.
