ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Content Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and leading our content strategy to drive brand awareness, engage our target audience, and ultimately support our business objectives in the China market. This role requires a deep understanding of the Chinese digital landscape, with a primary focus on WeChat and other key social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement GCN-specific content strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with the global marketing team to localize and adapt global campaigns for the GCN market.
- Analyse market trends, competitors activities, and customer behaviors to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Work closely with sales teams to ensure marketing efforts align with sales objectives and contribute to pipeline growth.
- Execute WeChat social strategy and content plan in line with established brand/tone guidelines, optimizing for engagement and performance.
- Own day-to-day WeChat channel operations (content production, scheduling, publishing), and track performance to inform ongoing optimisation.
- Develop a detailed execution plan for WeChat marketing, incorporating strategy, tone, and voice.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitors activities, and customer behaviours to stay ahead of opportunities and challenges.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in content strategy and creation, with a focus on the China market.
- Native-level proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proven experience in marketing roles, preferably in the technology or fintech industry.
- Strong understanding of WeChat platform functionality and best practices for content distribution. Knowledge of other Chinese Social Media platforms such as RedBook and Baidu are a plus.
- Familiarity with creating video content for WeChat and other Chinese social media platforms.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze content metrics like views, engagement, and conversion rates.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Ability to stay up-to-date on content trends and adapt accordingly.
