The Opportunity

A leading global maritime consultancy is seeking a high-caliber Marine Engineer to join their expert witness and technical dispute team. This firm is renowned for handling complex and high-profile maritime casualties, providing technical clarity to the world's leading law firms, P&I Clubs, and shipowners.

The Role

  • This is a dynamic role requiring a rare blend of forensic engineering and legal aptitude.
  • Expert Witness: Delivering authoritative evidence and testimonies for international arbitrations and court cases.
  • Forensic Investigation: Leading technical investigations into machinery failures, propulsion issues, and bunker disputes.
  • Strategic Advisory: Acting as a key technical advisor to legal counsel and P&I claims executives.
  • Technical Authorship: Producing sophisticated technical reports that bridge the gap between complex engineering and legal requirements.

The Profile

  • Must have sailed to the rank of Chief Engineer and have experience either within a marine consultancy, maritime law firm, P&I club, or as a Technical Superintendent with a ship owner/manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and interpret legal-technical language and an understanding of the duties of an Expert Witness will be held in high regard.
  • Communication: Exceptional command of English (written and oral)
