Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting construction activities, including site setup, installation works, quality inspections, and assisting engineers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
This position requires hands-on technical expertise, strong teamwork, and a proactive approach to resolving site-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, installation, maintenance, and repair of construction systems and structures.
- Support engineers and site supervisors with daily technical and operational activities.
- Carry out site measurements, leveling, and basic setting-out works in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and light construction equipment.
- Inspect, prepare, and handle materials while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Perform troubleshooting, corrective actions, and minor repair works when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Comply strictly with workplace safety regulations and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Record and report daily work progress, site issues, and material usage to supervisors.
- Assist in coordinating activities among subcontractors, suppliers, and different trades on-site.
- Support project testing, commissioning, and handover activities when required.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by management in support of project operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Construction, Building Services, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in construction, site coordination, technical support, or a related role will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of construction drawings, construction methods, tools, and workplace safety requirements.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual and technical tasks in various site conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a high sense of responsibility.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Willing to work outdoors and travel between project sites when required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to start work immediately will be an added advantage.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with working hours based on project requirements and schedules.
- Work is primarily conducted on construction sites and may involve exposure to noise, dust, heat, and varying weather conditions.
- Occasional overtime, night work, weekend work, or travel between project locations may be required.
- Fast-paced working environment with diverse responsibilities and project demands.
