Job Description
The Construction Project Manager (Electrical Works) is responsible for overseeing and managing all electrical engineering aspects of construction projects from planning to completion. The role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with Singapore regulations, safety standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical works for construction and engineering projects
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems including:Power distribution systemsSwitchgear and transformersLighting systemsCable routing, trunking, and containment systems
- Review project drawings, technical specifications, and method statements
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities (e.g. Building and Construction Authority, Ministry of Manpower)
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Prepare project schedules, cost estimates, and progress reports
- Monitor project progress and resolve technical and site issues
- Manage site supervisors, workers, and subcontractors effectively
- Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control of electrical installations
- Ensure workplace safety compliance and enforce WSH practices
- Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, structural) for smooth project execution
- Handle project documentation including reports, variation orders, and claims
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical works within construction projects
- Experience in Singapore construction environment is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices
- Familiar with Singapore standards, codes, and BCA requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, and cost control
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Problem-solving and decision-making capability
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Other Requirements
- Knowledge of workplace safety and risk assessment procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or project management tools
- Willing to work on-site and handle multiple projects
