Role: Project Director (M&E Construction)

About the Role
Our client is a leading engineering and construction contractor seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of large-scale projects across the data center, airport, and industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will provide overall leadership for complex M&E construction projects, overseeing project execution, commercial performance, stakeholder management, safety, quality, and delivery teams from inception through handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall delivery of large-scale M&E construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
- Provide strategic leadership to project teams, engineering managers, construction managers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Manage project P&L, resource planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk mitigation.
- Drive construction planning, procurement strategies, project controls, and commissioning activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Lead commercial negotiations, variation management, claims, and contractual matters.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Champion best practices in safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Mentor and develop project teams while fostering a high-performance culture.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience delivering large-scale M&E construction projects.
- Proven experience leading projects within one or more of the following sectors: Data Centers, Airport Infrastructure, Industrial Facilities, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical Facilities or Mission-Critical Environments
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, and building services systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project financials and contractual matters.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Experience managing projects exceeding S$100M in value would be highly advantageous.
