Planning & Schedule Leadership
- Develop and maintain detailed, fully logic-linked construction schedules for refinery projects using Primavera P6.
- Establish and control baseline schedules, construction sequencing, and execution strategies aligned with project and refinery-specific requirements.
- Liaise with construction contractors to get their detailed L4 schedules, compare with own schedule and optimize as needed.
- Ensure that the construction schedules for the different contractors / trades (such as civil, structural, mechanical, piping, insulation, painting, electrical, instrumentation etc) are properly and logically linked.
- Define work breakdown structures (WBS) and construction work packages in coordination with construction and engineering teams.
Progress Control & Analysis
- Set up proper construction progress methodology which will correctly depict the construction progress.
- Monitor and analyze construction progress, identifying schedule variances, critical path changes, and potential delays.
- Liaise with construction contractors and company's construction supervisors to reflect correct construction progress in reports
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly planning reports, including S-curves, manpower histograms, productivity analysis, and look-ahead schedules.
- Perform schedule risk assessments and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
- Support forensic schedule analysis, time impact analysis (TIA), and claims-related activities. Coordination & Interface Management.
- Interface closely with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning teams to ensure schedule integration.
- Integrate subcontractor schedules into the master construction schedule and verify alignment with overall project milestones.
- Participate in constructability reviews, shutdown/turnaround planning, and work packaging strategies.
Change & Risk Management
- Assess schedule impacts of design changes, scope growth, procurement delays, and site constraints.
- Advise project management on schedule risks and recommend proactive mitigation actions.
- Support management of schedule-related change orders and extensions of time (EOT).
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure planning and scheduling activities comply with project controls procedures, contractual requirements, and company standards.
- Promote safe work practices by incorporating HSE milestones and constraints into construction schedules.
