Job Summary
Lead and execute construction projects by coordinating teams, managing budgets, and ensuring quality and safety standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues, oversee procurement, and drive successful project delivery aligned with strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Execute construction projects to meet specifications, budget, and timeline targets, ensuring successful delivery.
- Define and approve project objectives collaboratively with the Director to align with strategic goals.
- Coordinate cross-departmental activities to resolve project-related issues and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Liaise with Clients, Engineers, and their representatives to address and resolve project-impacting matters.
- Assess training needs of project staff and organize targeted training programs, including on-site sessions, to enhance team capabilities.
- Review and evaluate material and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Approve material requisitions within authorized limits to maintain project supply chain integrity.
- Analyze and approve all project variations and claim submissions to control scope and budget changes.
- Oversee preparation and approval of quality system documentation, including Project Management Plans, Quality Plans, method statements, Work Procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans.
- Chair Project Quality System Review meetings to monitor and improve quality assurance processes.
- Assign responsibility for document control, inspection and test equipment management, and temporary works design and construction oversight to designated staff.
- Enforce adherence to the highest Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality standards throughout project activities.
- Negotiate pricing, special conditions, and contract addenda with subcontractors, including nominated subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms.
- Collaborate with the Director to finalize accounts with subcontractors and Clients, ensuring accurate financial reconciliation.
- Ensure procurement and retention of bonds, warranties, and guarantees in compliance with contract requirements.
- Review and approve subcontractors interim payment certificates based on verified work completion.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Demonstrate strong knowledge and practical experience in condominium and deep basement construction to effectively manage project complexities.
