Job Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing tax (FATCA/CRS) compliance advisory and support to all business units and support functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of FATCA/CRS tax returns, as well as other statutory filings to tax authorities.
- Working closely with various operational, finance and technology teams to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of data to be reported.
- Execute processes jointly with respective teams to ensure that the necessary setups are in place to support the reporting obligations.
- Coordinate with various parties from time to time to address any data quality or control issues that arise.
- Performing reconciliation and data quality checks.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
- Support compliance review exercises, and ensure alignment with global and specific tax reporting standards.
- Participate in projects and provide requirements. This includes performing User Acceptance Test (UAT) testing and regression testing.
- Identify and propose process improvements as required.
- Maintain operational procedures that document all reporting processes and ensure adherence to control standards.
- Address queries pertaining to our area of business and these queries include client complaints or relevant authorities requests for information (RFI).
- Prepare reports for governance and management meetings.
- Any other work assigned by the Bank.
Job Requirements:
- Preferably university degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Organizational understanding and a strong team player.
- Display leadership and ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring quality completion, abiding to timelines.
- Display high attention to details and able to pick up discrepancies.
- Follow through appropriately for the rectification of exceptions.
- Articulate and able to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
- Working experience of AS400 or SIBS will be an added advantage.
