Job Role : To handle Compliance Officer (Head) functions of the Branch and your responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following:-
Basic Function
The Compliance Officer - Head will be heading a team of officers and clerks and shall report to CEO of the Branch and/CCO, International Banking Department, Corporate Office & Regulator/s (RBI/MAS) directly.
He/she will be primarily responsible for overseeing compliance of the Branch and ensuring compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
He/she will be responsible for establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the branch are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations.
He/she has to provide reasonable assurance to senior management that there are effective and efficient policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by all employees, and that the Branch is complying with all regulatory requirements.
He/she must also inform the CEO about important issues and material violations.
He/she must have specific knowledge on application of AML/CFT regulations on customer on-boarding in retail & corporate banking business, trade finance and remittance business, trade finance and remittance businesses.
Area of Operation
.- Independently implement, update and manage KYC/AML/CFT/Sanctions compliance provisions of the Organisation in line with regulatory requirements
.- Implement, update and manage transaction monitoring, customer screening, sanctions screening and other AML tools and applications, EWRA.
.- To perform AML/CFT provisions review, Management, reporting, compliance monitoring, suspicious transactions reporting , AML, Training and other AML related tasks
.- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of employees, senior management, auditors and regulators.
.- Strong communication skills both oral and written and proven skills in drafting AML/CFT/Regulatory policies and procedures.
.- Periodic updations of Manuals, policies
.- Relevant knowledge in Trade Operations
.- Strong familiarity with MS Office
.- Ability to analyze client information and documentation to facilitate account opening, on-going name screening and periodic reviews and trigger CDD/EDD review of FI customers
.- Analysing how risk factors impact risk rating on Customers
.- Ability to Identify and escalate any unusual activity / transaction activity not consistent with client profile
.- Review and evaluate recent negative news related to clients
.- Recommend relationship strategy where applicable
.- Work closely with the relationship managers to assist the department in complying the AML/KYC requirements
.- Act as a subject matter expert in the execution and implementation of CDD/EDD requirements in accordance with the Bank's related AML/Sanctions policies and procedures
.- Interface with relevant departments with regards to compliance reviews and investigation.
.- To coordinate and ensure compliance/rectification of issues raised by internal, external audit and regulators, review and validate the evidence and ensure issues are fully addressed.
.- Good understanding of governance, AML/CFT compliance processes and other regulatory requirements.
.- Conduct independent testing to assure compliance with applicable laws, rules and standards in acceptance with testing plan.
.- Conversant with local regulatory reporting and norms
.- Directing Compliance Department activities, providing leadership, training and supervision within the department.
.- Compliance Officer shall ensure compliance to MAS guidelines/rules/regulations and various rules and guidelines issued by Government/various authorities.
- The Officer should have thorough understanding of various AML/CFT/ Compliance related guidelines/rules/regulations issued by Regulator/Government/various authorities of the host country and home country (will be helpful).

Min Years of Experience:
3 years & above experience in similar position/relevant expertise in the Banking and Finance Industry with specific experience in handling Compliance Portfolios.
