Job Description

Job Purpose:

Provide advisory, perform planning, reporting and analysis on compliance tasks/assignments (both Regulatory Compliance and AML/KYC Compliance). Support the Head of Compliance from time to time.

Job Responsibilities:

Implement Policy and Procedures (Regulatory Compliance and AML/KYC Compliance)

Address gaps, review and implement Policy and Procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with appropriate Global Polices and standards as well as industry best practices.

Review and closure of SafeWatch alerts

To review and release Safewatch alerts (mainly at Level 2) on the same day except for alerts assigned under investigation. Ensure appropriate comments for closure of alert.

Review and handling of FCCM

Daily review, handling and follow-up of FCCM alerts (mainly at Team Leader/Supervisor Level).

Escalate potential suspicious transactions to Head of Compliance within 1 working day.

Training / Guidance to 1st line of defence

Provide guidance to 1st line of defence on Anti-Money Laundering/Countering Financing of Terrorism, Know-Your-Customer and other non-AML/CFT compliance related procedures.

Provide regular trainings and coaching

Handling MAS and other government agencies mails on alert names

Input names into Safewatch on same day, and respond accordingly to MAS or other government agencies

Periodic screening of branch customer database

Ensure ongoing screening of branch customer database through WorldCheck One. Perform level 2 review and handling of matched results within stipulated timeline.

Policies and Procedures Review

Review policies and procedures submitted by stakeholders to ensure compliance with MAS regulations, Singapore laws, HO Policies & Proceduresbefore submission to HO for validation and approval.

Periodic Reporting to Head Office

Ensure prompt and accurate submissions

Compliance reviews and testing

Ensure timely review and testing

Dissemination of MAS / ABS Circulars etc

Disseminate via email to relevant stakeholders timely, and follow up on required actions and deadlines (if any).

Send timely reminder to the relevant stakeholders on follow up actions and deadlines.

Maintenance of Record / Filing

Ensure up to date record maintenance and filing related to Compliance department. As far as possible, file on department folder.

Assist and support Head of Compliance

Assist and support Head of Compliance on various projects from time to time and adhere to assigned timeline/deadline.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor of Business (Economic and Finance).

Minimum experience:

Minimum 8 years experience in banking and at least 5 years in AML/CFT/Sanctions whilst working in a banking environment.

Knowledge and Skill

  • Compliance & regulatory Knowledge.
  • Good understanding of Banking software/MS Office.
  • Understanding of Banking Operations.
  • Keen analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of trade finance.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
