Job Description

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Executive to join our team. This role will ensure our Singapore operations remain compliant with local regulations (LTA, PDPA, MAS) while aligning with the corporate governance standards of our Japanese Head Office. You will be managing the auditing 3rd-party KYC, lead the charge in financial crime prevention and data protection, providing the management team with the regulatory clarity needed to drive the business forward.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to management and departments on regulatory requirements, internal policies, and evolving Singapore laws (e.g., Hire Purchase Act, Common Law etc).

  • Monitor news and research updates on fraud trends, scam tactics, and regulatory best practices to proactively shield the company from risks.

  • Conduct rigorous Know Your Customer (KYC) and background checks for project-related engagements.

  • Support internal control assessments and audits collaborate with external legal counsel for policy reviews and regulatory submissions.

  • Act as the compliance representative to address inquiries from banking partners regarding our AML/KYC frameworks and risk profiles.

  • Plan and conduct compliance training sessions to raise awareness of company policies, ethics, and data security.

  • Revise or create internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they remain relevant to changing operational needs.

  • Assist in employee welfare initiatives to foster a positive, ethical, and compliant workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Certification: Specialized certification in Data Protection (e.g., Practitioner Certificate in PDPA) or Compliance is preferred.

  • 2-4 years of experience in a compliance or legal role, preferably within car leasing or a consumer finance

  • Strong knowledge of PDPA, MAS regulations, AML/CFT frameworks, and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. suspicious transaction reporting, MAS returns). Knowledge on vehicle leasing regulations is an advantage

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with business and regulatory stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses strong ethical judgment, with the ability to work independently
