1. Position Summary
The Compliance Executive is responsible for ensuring that Kim Seng Huat (KSH) complies with all regulatory, safety, environmental, and internal policy requirements. This role provides hands-on support in maintaining proper documentation, coordinating regulatory submissions, monitoring operational compliance (including warehouse and SCDF requirements), and supporting internal audits across the KSH group.
The position requires high attention to detail, strong follow-up skills, and the ability to work closely with HR, Operations, Warehouse, EHS, Finance, and external agencies.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
. Ensure compliance with relevant Singapore laws and regulations including:
. MOM Employment Act & HR-related statutory requirements
. SCDF Fire Safety regulations, storage & usage permits
. NEA, BCA, LTA, JTC, SPF (as applicable to KSH operations)
. Maintain an updated compliance calendar with all renewal dates (e.g., SCDF Fire Certificate, storage permits, forklift diesel/MDT tank declarations).
. Prepare and submit documents for regulatory audits, inspections, and renewals.
. Liaise with government authorities on compliance matters.
B. Internal Policies & Governance
. Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating internal SOPs, handbooks, and compliance guidelines.
. Ensure all departments adhere to company policies, including HR, warehouse, safety, and operational procedures.
. Conduct periodic internal compliance checks and report findings.
. Support policy harmonisation across KSH, HH Stainless, and related entities (if required).
C. EHS, SCDF & Warehouse Compliance
. Monitor compliance with safety and environmental requirements (e.g., PPE, forklift operations, fire extinguishers, spill response readiness).
. Maintain SCDF-related documentation (fire safety plan, storage of flammable materials, diesel usage, forklift diesel tank declarations).
. Track maintenance and servicing of equipment related to compliance (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency lights, alarms, diesel tanks, spill kits).
. Support Site Supervisor/Warehouse team on compliance actions and rectification works.
D. Audit & Documentation
. Coordinate internal and external audits (e.g., SCDF inspection, HR audit, ISO if applicable).
. Maintain organised records of compliance reports, licences, permits, contracts, and inspection documents.
. Ensure timely closure of audit findings.
. Maintain version control of compliance policies and SOPs.
E. Training & Communication
. Support the rollout of compliance briefings and induction for new employees.
. Communicate updated regulatory guidelines or new requirements to relevant departments.
. Assist in training sessions related to safety, compliance, and internal controls.
F. Cross-Functional Support
. Work closely with HR, Admin, Finance, Warehouse, Operations, and Management on compliance-related tasks.
. Provide support during incidents (e.g., spillage, SCDF non-compliance, MOM inspection) including documentation and reporting.
. Provide regular compliance status reports to Management.
3. Requirements
Qualifications
. Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Compliance, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related fields.
. WSQ/NEBOSH/ISO-related certifications are an advantage.
