Job Description

At Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), our Legal & Compliance team plays a vital role in safeguarding the integrity of our business and the trust of our partners. As an Executive (Compliance), you will be at the heart of this effort supporting the organisation in meeting its legal obligations, managing counterparty risk, and building a culture of compliance across the company. This is a meaningful role for someone who takes pride in doing things right and wants to make a tangible difference in a global shipping environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and update policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Screen new and existing counterparties for restricted, sanctioned, and prohibited individuals and entities; assess cargo supply chains and vessels for regulatory violations and escalate adverse findings appropriately.
  • Maintain the internal Counterparty Registration and Management System in accordance with internal policies; analyse counterparty documents from a legal, compliance, and fraud prevention perspective.
  • Prepare Know-Your-Customer (KYC) documentation for and on behalf of affiliated entities.
  • Develop and manage the Learning Management System; facilitate both online and face-to-face compliance training programmes.
  • Support and follow up on internal and external inspections and audits.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare timely reports and updates as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and carry out related administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or other relevant qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in fraud risk management, investigations, risk, internal controls, or compliance functions.
  • Knowledge of compliance, sanctions, and anti-money laundering legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage your own workload and prioritise across multiple deadlines.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and self-driven approach.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
