About the role

Based in Singapore. As the South East Asia Compliance Director, you will be a senior regional leader responsible for defining the strategic direction, providing oversight, and ensuring the effective execution of CBRE's Ethics & Compliance program across South East Asia. This role, based in Singapore, covers a critical region including Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Pakistan, with occasional travel required to support country and regional initiatives.

What you'll do
  • Lead and develop a diverse, multi-country team of Field Compliance Officers and regional compliance resources, fostering a strong and ethical compliance culture.
  • Define, implement, and oversee a risk-based regional compliance strategy, translating global priorities into effective regional execution plans and anticipating emerging risks.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to regional and country leadership, leading compliance discussions in senior forums and influencing outcomes through executive-level communication.
  • Manage governance and risk oversight, including chairing regional Compliance Review Meetings and providing quality compliance risk inputs into the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Provide regional oversight and ensure consistent local implementation of global programs such as Anti-Corruption, AML & Sanctions, Insider Risk, Privacy, and Conflicts of Interest.
  • Champion a speak-up culture, oversee mandatory essential learning completion, and deliver targeted risk-based training as a visible compliance leader across the region.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between regional business leaders and the Global Risk, Ethics & Compliance Team, proactively addressing current and emerging compliance issues.
  • Lead and oversee Ethics & Compliance due diligence and integration activities for new ventures, business expansion, and Mergers & Acquisitions.

What you'll need
  • ACAMS qualification.
  • Proven people leadership experience, specifically leading diverse, multi-country teams.
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Extensive experience in ethics and compliance within complex, regulated environments.
  • Profound understanding of risk management, governance frameworks, and second-line accountability models.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, navigate ambiguity, and balance risk mitigation with commercial pragmatism.
  • A proactive work ethic and the ability to operate independently.
