A well-established insurer is looking to appoint a Compliance & Risk Manager to support its governance and regulatory compliance functions in Singapore.
This is a broad-based role suited for professionals who enjoy partnering closely with business stakeholders while driving strong compliance culture, operational risk oversight, and regulatory best practices within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advisory support to business units on regulatory requirements, market conduct standards, and compliance-related matters impacting financial advisory operations.
- Monitor and review sales advisory activities, distribution practices, and customer engagement processes to ensure alignment with internal policies and MAS regulations.
- Conduct compliance reviews, control assessments, and gap analysis across operational and distribution workflows, with recommendations for enhancement where required.
- Support AML/CFT monitoring activities including transaction reviews, screening alerts, risk assessments, and escalation of suspicious activities where necessary.
- Assist in investigations relating to complaints, misconduct, or potential breaches, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Partner with stakeholders across business, operations, and support functions to implement governance initiatives, compliance training, and regulatory change management projects.
- Support ongoing data governance and privacy initiatives including PDPA-related controls and data protection frameworks.
- Prepare management reporting, compliance dashboards, and documentation for internal governance and audit purposes.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Law, Finance, Risk Management, or related discipline.
- Approximately 6–8 years of experience in compliance, risk management, AML/CFT, or regulatory advisory within financial services, insurance, banking, or financial advisory environments.
- Good understanding of MAS regulations, financial advisory guidelines, and regulatory expectations in Singapore.
- Exposure to AML, market conduct, operational risk, outsourcing governance, or business continuity frameworks will be advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across business functions.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
