Job Overview

The Compliance Analyst is responsible for the review of related financial crime/AML procedures across the business, paying particular attention to the on boarding of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) clients and subsequent ongoing monitoring.

The role also focuses on transaction monitoring alerts, KYC/CDD reviews, sanctions screening, and regulatory compliance support.

The role involves supporting the Head of Financial Crime and compliance officers based in London and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to ensure all areas of financial crime, including AML, sanctions and ongoing client monitoring and transactional monitoring are all adhered to.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Customer Due Diligence (CDD): Gather, analyze, and validate legal entity and individual identity documents.
  • Risk Assessment: Screen clients against sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media lists using specialized screening tools.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the bridge between clients, relationship managers, and internal compliance or risk teams to clear documentation gaps
  • Adhere to local regulatory frameworks, such as local monetary authority guidelines on AML and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT)
  • Perform document gap analysis by self-sourcing and reviewing available documentation. Evaluating information available publicly or through vendors for multiple Asian jurisdictions
  • Support audit, regulatory, and compliance review requests by preparing required documentation
  • Monitor AML system-generated alerts and perform initial investigation on potential suspicious transactions
  • Support escalation and preparation of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) under guidance of senior team members
  • Review sanctions screening hits (PEP, sanctions, adverse media) and ensure proper disposition in line with AML policies
  • Monitor regulatory updates and support implementation of control enhancements
  • Perform other operational and compliance duties as assigned by the Compliance team

What are we looking for

  • Diploma, Bachelor's degree or an equivalent professional qualification
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a regulated financial services environment
  • Broad financial crime exposure to global AML and FC, specifically with high risk, EDD clients
  • Experience in regulatory compliance for regulated payment services firm or capital markets services licensee
  • Demonstrated experience in managing compliance issues across jurisdictions and multiple legal entities
  • Fresh graduates with a strong interest in compliance and financial services are welcome to apply
