About the role
Are you passionate about guiding athletes to reach their full potential and shine on the competition floor We are looking for dedicated and inspiring Competitive Gymnastics Coaches who believe in the power of discipline, perseverance, and positive mentorship. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive on helping gymnasts achieve excellence - building strength, skill, and confidence while preparing them to perform at their very best in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment.
As a Competitive Coach, you'll play a pivotal role in developing athletes for local, regional, and national competitions. You'll design training programs, refine techniques, and instill values of resilience and sportsmanship - all while ensuring that every session is both safe and fun, keeping athletes motivated and engaged throughout their journey.
Responsibilities
Teaching
- Lead gymnastics classes for competitive athletes in line with structured lesson plans.
- Create a positive training atmosphere that balances hard work with enjoyment
- Prioritise safety by maintaining proper spotting techniques, equipment checks, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Mentor athletes in mental preparation, confidence, and focus for competitions
- Ensure a safe, motivating, and fun environment for all athletes
Communicate with parents
- Communicate proactively with parents, providing updates on student progress, class highlights, and upcoming events in a clear, professional, and friendly manner.
- Monitor progress and provide constructive and appropriate feedback to students to support their development and motivation.
Continuous and collaborative learning and reflection
- Engage in regular team-based reflection sessions to evaluate class effectiveness, refine coaching strategies, and share best practices for continuous improvement.
- Support special events such as showcases, camps, and holiday programs.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming gym environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of gymnastics coaching experience (competitive coaching background preferred)
- Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques, conditioning, and competition standards
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor athletes of varying ages and skill levels
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Certification in gymnastics coaching or relevant qualifications (preferred)
- Passion for athlete development and commitment to fostering sportsmanship
- Dedication to maintaining safety standards while making training engaging and enjoyable
